Switchback Developers Limited (SDL) is a Joint Venture between Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Trasacco Estates Development Company Limited (TEDC) and Lifeforms Limited. The project is to develop a large track of land located off the Independence Avenue, opposite the 37 Military Hospital and adjacent to the Army Officer's Mess. The site is to be transformed into a high class mixed-use facilities. The project which commenced in July 2011 will cost $380 million.

The project is set on a 16.77 acre plot of land which on completion, will be home to residential apartments and penthouses of various sizes that will occupy high-rise buildings. There will be two office blocks, one of which is a twin-tower office complex occupying 35,000 square meters of office space, a 200-room Five-Star Intercontinental Hotel with a complementary 100-room Three-Star Holiday Inn, retail shops and other facilities, including multi-story car parks.

This is a development concept based on the realization that the time has come for Accra, and for that matter Ghana, to take its proper place as the preferred destination in Africa. The country has a lot to offer in terms of business and tourism that must be exploited to the fullest advantage.

Rehabilitation Of GBC Studios

After a competitive bidding, GBC awarded the 21 million Euro project to Lifeforms Ltd and long-time partners, Sony Professional Solutions-Middle East and Africa, to deliver the broadcast solution in phases over a six year period starting from 2005. The project was to equip GBC with state of the art capture, recording, editing equipment and broadcast studio systems, archiving solutions and Six-Camera Digital OB vans and Three Radio OB vans and Digital Satellite Newsgathering Vehicles which would smoothly usher GBC into the modern era. The total value delivered was Euros 17 million (Phases 1, 2 & 3). Additional Euros 4 million for Phase 4

Petroleum Storage Tanks Rehabilitation and Expansion Project for Liberia Government and Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LRPC)

Location : Liberia

Lifeforms and partners, Motherwell Bridge UK won a contract for $30.8 million to renovate and build 22 oil storage tanks in Liberia, West Africa. Following two decades of civil war, Liberia has slowly been rebuilding its economy and this terminal project is seen as key to its efforts.

LPRC’s existing fuel storage terminal near the country’s capital at Monrovia had fallen significantly behind international standards during the war-torn years between 1989 and 2003.

Lifeforms and Motherwell Bridge has been contracted to:

Modernize the boat offloading, pipeline and jetties at the site
Carry out all civil engineering works
Demolish redundant plant
Construct new bunding, laying foundations and constructing new tanks
Laying of pipelines, installing new pumps and fitting electrical systems
Develop new instrumentation and installing new firefighting systems.

The project took three years and the end result saw LPRC increase its fuel holding capacity on the site and potentially lead to further investment from the large oil and gas multinationals.

Self Help Electrification Project with our partners Weldy Lamont, U.S.A. for the Ministry of Energy.

Location : Ghana

Lifeforms and Partners, Weldy Lamont, U.S.A. won a $350 million rural electrification turnkey contract from the Government of Ghana, and will procure equipment and services from United States under a loan from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank). The phase four of Ghana's Self Help Electrification Project (SHEP IV), commenced on September 2008 and based on the company's successful performance on phase three of the project (SHEP III). The project comprised of procurement, engineering, installation and management services.

Supply of Meters to the Ministry of Energy

Lifeforms Ltd in association with Forms Logistics won the contract to supply electric meters to the Ministry of Energy with partners, TM Powerline Products Company Ltd in December 2003 at the cost of $1.42 million

Supply of Cables to the Ministry of Energy

Client : Ministry Of Energy

Location : Ghana

Lifeforms Ltd in association with Forms Logistics won the contract to Electric Cutouts XLPE Insulation and High Voltage Cables, PVC sheathed Power Cables and MV cables to the Ministry of Energy in December 2004 at a project cost of $ 7.9 million
